Fundraising smashes the £10k mark

Each week the effort that goes into fundraising at Churchill just gets better. This week mug sales, sponsorship for Paul Smith's marathon run and donations towards the doing it for dougie challenge have pushed the fundraising total over £10,000, 25% of the £40,000 target. Raising a total of £2,726 this week alone, Churchill have once again been overwhelmed by the support.

This week Moy Park Ashbourne have taken mugs to sell to their customers, taking the total mugs out in the marketplace to over 3,960. The cheques are now rolling in from sales of the mugs with thanks going to Therser , Industrial Electronics, Matara, Eurosprint, Rebro and MPM Pumps for their efforts selling these and also to all staff selling the mugs to friends and family.

Also a special thanks also goes out to Emma Bridgewater and Palick who have this week donated to the cause.

Over the next coming weeks staff members are getting out and about to raise more funds. 4th May will see a team of runners taking part in the Keele University 5K run. During the week of 20th May a group of Churchill volunteers will be collecting at the Regent Theatre before and after performances. Volunteers are still needed for this, so if anyone is interested in giving a helping hand please get in touch. Finally, there is also a team from the NPD department in preparation to climb Scarfell Pyke in June.

Preparations and plans are now well underway for the Teacup relay taking place on 22nd May, with all runners now knowing their routes. The teams of runners will set off starting at 6am at the Factory in Tunstall heading straight for the Dougie Mac at 8am to call in and show support.

All the hard work going into the fundraising is really appreciated by all. If you haven't yet sponsored the efforts or wish to help out in some way then please get in touch. You can sponsor the team via the Just Giving page or view the story of Churchill's Challenge on the website
